Indoor Percussion
Percussion is the heartbeat of the marching band, but in the winter the spotlight shines on them alone. Indoor Percussion (drumline and front ensemble) is a high-energy, performance-driven ensemble that combines music, movement, and visual artistry. Running on a similar schedule as Winter Guard, the group competes on the Atlantic Indoor Association (AIA) and Winter Guard International (WGI) circuits—bringing all the excitement of marching band indoors with even more intensity.
Our program is already making history! In just its third year, Indoor Percussion captured gold at the AIA South Championships with their production “A Place Where Nothing Grows”—the equivalent of being named State Champions! The ensemble then went on to perform at WGI World Championships in Dayton, advancing to semi-finals—the first North Carolina ensemble to do so since 2015.
While Indoor Percussion is primarily made up of year-round percussionists, students from other musical backgrounds are always welcome to join and pick up a percussion instrument for the winter season. The drumline (battery) features snares, tenors, and bass drums, while the front ensemble brings in marimbas, vibraphones, xylophones, bells, synths/piano, and other auxiliary instruments. Some years even feature guitar and additional instruments, depending on the show design and the unique talents of our student musicians.
Participation in Indoor Percussion is an investment in an incredible musical experience—costs typically run around $1,400 per student, supported in large part by the fundraising efforts of the Enloe Band Boosters. Recruitment happens in December, right at the end of marching band season, giving all students the opportunity to join this high-energy winter ensemble.

Financial Aid
Participation in our extracurricular ensembles comes with additional costs, and families are asked to contribute their fair share. But no student should ever miss out on being part of the band because of financial need. That’s why the Enloe Band Boosters created a Financial Aid Fund to help families cover student fees or fair share payments, ensuring every student has the chance to participate in the Enloe High School Marching Band.
